shelter were constructed for the earth quake effected at Bhuj, Gujarat.
This project was executed up by Natura Fibretech Pvt.Ltd. for the
Departmant of science and Technology, Govt. of India and also Kutch Vikas
Trust. The frames were made of mild steel and the walls and roofs of
Coirply. Weather quote paints were used to protect the sheets from UV rays
and Mangalore tiles were used on the roofs for asthetic purpose. The boards
having good insulation properties have shown a temperature difference of 5
to 8 degrees when compared to the outside temperature.
These shelters were
built during march to july 2001 and it still continues to remain without
any defects inspite of the extreme climatic conditions in Gujarat. These
shelters are available as ready to assemble kits and can be made in sizes
as per order.
